Had a nice distraction from the daily grind of work last December when we jumped on a plane for Ho Chi Minh City to visit with friends and to enjoy the sights. Finally got to taste a brilliant banh mi and saw the depressing war museum.
Hoping to make a comeback to this blog after being away for so long.
Have recently made the move to put roots in Johor. Being from Penang, there’s a certain expectation that I’ve come to develop when it comes to food and so far Johor has not yet made a great impression. Hopefully this is because I’ve yet to make the effort to properly explore the culinary hot spots that are known only to the locals.
So far my wife has found most of the Korean restaurants and there are a couple of decent places that we’ll frequent on a regular basis. Uncle Jan’s dakgalbi place is one such find. Pretty decent preparation of the Chuncheon signature dish.
